WISDOM: YES OR NO?

Learning to distinguish the voice of wisdom from the voice of foolishness! Each in their own way is vying for our ATTENTION! Are there some 'warning signs' that could alert us to the fact that we are being challenged by the voice of foolishness? 

Solomon in the book of Proverbs identifies several:

1. Ignoring of sound advice,
2. A refusal to accept correction, and
3. Easily persuaded to make inappropriate & unhealthy choices.

Most notable are in the areas of choosing to get rich by exploiting others and to be lured into illicit sexual pleasure. On the other hand, some indicators that we are being challenged by the voice of wisdom are:

1. We see their attentiveness & obedience to words of instruction,
2. We see their deep-seated longing for insight & understanding, and
3. We see their loving reverence for God that includes submission to His Lordship and to the commands of His Word.

And, yes, the benefits to embracing wisdom far outweigh the consequences of walking in the way of the foolish!

As you journey forward today, ask yourself "What is going to determine the type of choices I make today?"  Will you choose the ways of wisdom?  Or the path of fools?  Choose wisely!
