Ever blown it badly? Ever quit? Ever decided to simply walk away from your responsibilities and let the world go by; you just didn't want to be bothered anymore? Ever made a stupid decision that has affected you and your reputation ever since? Take heart. One young man who did exactly that was later given the assignment of writing an account of the life of the Lord Jesus Christ - Mark, who would later write the Gospel of Mark! Jesus is well-known for giving people "second chances".

Maybe you have had someone quit on you? Maybe you have had a deserter upset your business, your home, your life? Many have! Now comes probably the hardest task you will ever be given - to find within your heart to give that someone the greatest gift that can come from one person to another - the gift of forgiveness. Maybe you simply don't have the strength to do it, but with God's help He will enable you to lift that person to a place of restoration and acceptance.

The good news is that whenever God is involved, anything can happen! The same God who directed that stone from David's slingshot to go in between Goliath's eyes and who split the Red Sea down the middle and levelled that wall around Jericho and brought His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, out of the tomb takes a delight in mixing up the odds as He alters the obvious and bypasses the inevitable!

But, as He always does, He leaves that choice up to us!  God longs to get involved in our lives, in the daily events & circumstances that we are experiencing. But He waits to be invited! So maybe today you are feeling like a Mark - some time ago you made a particular choice, a decision that today you are regretting! Take heart! Acknowledge your error, your mistake , your sin - ask God for forgiveness - then, with a heart full of thankfulness, embrace that forgiveness - and, yes, be sure that you forgive yourself! Remember: whenever God is involved, anything can happen! And I mean, ANYTHING!
