Hi Bill,

Thanks again for lunch today and the wisdom you gave regarding Karen and the grieving process she is going through. Please pray for her (and her family) as she grieves the loss of her brother. We have been praying that she would hear what God is saying to her in the midst of all this... Pray that she would fix her eyes on Jesus. Pray also that she would feel and know the love of God for her right now.

Thanks too about the reminder about recounting stories with our children... I am going to do that! May God guide you as you do that with Hillside as well. (I have attached one story of how God spoke to me about stepping toward Thailand. Feel free to post that on the website!)

Also, here is the update regarding our needs in those three areas I mentioned at lunch:

  1. Monthly Pledges (still needed $2675 - per month)
  2. PreMINA Living Expenses (still needed: $5430). MINA is another word for furlough. It stands for Ministry In North America. Its called "Pre" because we technically are not on furlough until we have done a term in Thailand! I began phasing out of my job at TWU in January and then finished there at the end of April. From January till August MBMSI provides funds to cover our living expenses. Half of these funds we need to trust God for and MBMSI covers the other half. We have been amazed to see God provide for us in this area!!
  3. Three Month Safety Budget (still needed: $2971). This is something that MBMSI requires all missionaries to have prior to being sent out.

I am not sure how these numbers look to you... but to God they are just numbers. He is teaching us to see them as He sees them!

The peace of Jesus to you,

Greg & Becky Ouellette
...and kids! Caleb (10), Emma (8), Luke (4) & Silas (almost 3!).

PS:

As I was finishing this email up the thought crossed my mind to share a very specific need with Hillside. One of the things that we will need to purchase when we arrive in LopBuri, Thailand for language school is bicycles! That will be our primary mode of transportation for the first while!! (We will look like the Von Trapp family singers I'm sure as we cycle the streets of LopBuri!!). We have been told to plan on approximately $900USD for our family for this.
