A Pictorial Update!

A few weeks ago, our family had the opportunity to travel to Trang, a neighboring province, with our new friends "Boonchehng and Raywahdee" for the Thai New Year's celebrations, aka "Song Kraan". The largest festival of the year.

We made the 7 hour road trip together with them and teammate Cynthia Friesen. We walked through (all the layers of) a rainforest, slid down a waterfall, picnicked on the beach, ate some authentic Trang food (can you say 'fried frog'?), took part in some community new year's celebrations, and met with the Christians through whom our friends came to faith. Our pictures will tell the story!

New Developments...

We are excited about our Monday night fruit stand cell group! We meet at the local fruit market to read the Bible, pray together and share a meal. People from the surrounding fruit stands are dropping in - some ask questions, others just observe from a distance, but we are excited for this new opportunity. Please pray for this little gathering of people that God seems to be bringing together.

Prison Ministry? Our team has been asked to consider helping out in a ministry to the local prison. There are about 200 women and 1000 men. We have been praying about this and are looking into a 'trial run'. Please pray together with us - is this something that God wants us to pursue?

Thanks for tuning in for another update of the Phuket Ouellettes!

We appreciate you,

Silas made friends in the jungle. These guys lived on his shirt for a day and a half. He named them all "Buggy" :)
(He's posing to pretend he's afraid of them!)
Caleb had a hoot at the waterfall!
The heavens opened up on this water fight! Can you find 3 wet Ouellettes in this shot?
We joined with this community in a ceremony of honoring their elders. We poured water into their hands. Then it started pouring down rain!
