ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY TODAY!
On this, the 28th day of August, we are happy to be celebrating one year of life in Thailand!! Wow! This year has flown by! We have SO much to be thankful for this year: our health, our safety in all the travels we have done, a great start in learning Thai language and culture, many new friendships, innumerable new experiences for each of us - new sights, new tastes, new sounds, new smells. The list could go on! We are so thankful to God for all of these things. And we are thankful to all of YOU who have journeyed alongside us, prayed for us, encouraged us, and kept us involved in your lives in various ways!
3 MORE SLEEPS :)
Yes, in 3 more sleeps, the Ouellette family will be moving! We are leaving Lopburi on Friday afternoon. We will travel only as far as Bangkok on the first day. Then, we head to Prachuap, where our family will rest for one week at a wonderful guesthouse on the Gulf of Thailand. From there we will travel the last 8 hours or so and arrive in Phuket. We aim to arrive on September 9. We would really appreciate your prayers during these days of travel. We will be driving our "new" van that we were able to purchase just a few weeks ago. (Another provision we are very thankful for!)
NEW VISAS
Yesterday we made a trip to the immigration office in Bangkok and were able to
renew all of our visas for another year. Praise God! We are thankful that this
process has not been complicated thus far. We pray that God will continue to
keep the door open for Christian workers in Thailand.
LANGUAGE EXAMS
I (Becky) was able to complete a Year One exam earlier this month. Greg will
complete his tomorrow! We will then feel a sense of completion with our time
here in Lopburi and will have the blessing of our language school to move
forward with finding our own language helpers in Phuket!
A GREAT POSSIBILITY...
We have asked you to pray regarding teachers for our kids for the coming
school year...About a week ago, I got an email from a family that is VERY
interested to come and join us for most of this coming school year! This
family is currently filling out application forms and taking all of the
necessary actions to move towards this "possibility" becoming a reality!! We
will keep you posted. THANK YOU for being faithful to pray. This is a major
decision for this family. Please pray that God would confirm, provide, and
give them a deep sense of peace as they step towards this.
NEW ADDRESS:
If anyone wants to try out one of these addresses to see if it works.....we'll send a prize to the sender of the first piece of mail we receive in Phuket!! OK, the first at each of the following 2 addresses! (And, yes, we also need to send a prize to Dan and Marlene and family for naming all the fruit correctly from our last update. Way to go guys!!)
