It is 1:55 am Tuesday morning and I just received a call that a young girl, Noriko, from the International Christian Academy of Nagoya (ICAN) that Cambria and Trenton attend was kidnapped/abducted from her home minutes ago.  Noriko Wall's parents are fine Christians.  Mr. Wall, a Canadian, teaches English in Japan and his Japanese wife teaches at ICAN, the school our family helped start 7 years ago.  We ask that you pray for Noriko and her family and also for those who have done this terrible thing.  They live in Seto City, which neighbours Toyota City to the north!  We didn't realize that there was such a risk in Japan and ask you pray for our children's safety too.

Sincerely,

Laurence Hiebert

Good News!

The Wall daughter was found in Nagakute (a city connected to Toyota City and Seto where her family lives) and appears to be unharmed.  Details are still sketchy, but we want to thank you for praying.  The police have been trying to gain information from her.  It seems the kidnappers were not caught.  I'll try to get more details later.

Just to clarify.  The Wall family does not serve with our mission (MBMS International).  They are in Japan independently.  Our connection to them is that their children attend ICAN and I am a board member of that school and as such I felt I should contact you to join us in praying for her safe return.

So give thanks to the Lord.  Pray for the trauma that this family is going through and for the ICAN teachers and students as they process this in class today.

In Christ,
Laurence
