Dear praying friend,

Mrs. Katoh.
She came to church again. She told me after the service that she had really wanted her husband to come with her. She had been awake part of the night praying that he would come. She left home alone and went to church. Well into the service, I saw Mr. Katoh slip in the back and sit by his wife!!!! PTL! He stayed for lunch and seemed to enjoy himself. Pray that he will come again and again!

Action Team.
Cindy and Jessica continue to make good adjustments to Japan and are working hard in their areas of service. Being only two of them, they have to do more than previous teams that had more members.

Day Camps.
Our Day Camps (Like VBS) run July 23-25, with a wrap up program on Sunday the 27. Thank God for the 25 kids that signed up. Thank the Lord that we have a good number of church people serving along with our family (including Brandon ) and Cindy and Jessica. Dale and Darice and two sons arrived last Saturday and will be helping out too. So we have a great team! Pray that God will really touch each child's life and that through this they and their parents will come to know Jesus soon! Pray for safety and health so all the kids can attend every day. Ask the Lord to really bless the wrap up program on Sunday when the kids will sing, the team will sing and Dale, Darice and Brandon will share their testimonies.

"Old" friend.
The other day Leona was out shopping and a high school approached her and asked if she remembered her. At first she didn't. It was Cambria 's friend from kindergarten and early elementary school days. Today all of a sudden she showed up to visit Cambria . She was so thrilled to see Cambria she gave her a hug and spent a few hours here. She even got involved in preparing some things for the Day Camps! She loves music much like Cambria does, so who knows, that interest may have them spending time together again after being apart for 9 years! This friend then told us that her best friend at school is the daughter to one of our recent converts (Leona's long time English student).

Guest Lecturer.
My 2 hours with over 200 senior citizens went very well and was really enjoyable. A couple people at the end asked questions that allowed me to share a bit about my faith and why I came to Japan. And guess what God arranged. The leader of the entire group "happens" to be a friend of mine from a group of people I play tennis with. He opened the meeting and introduced me.

Another connection!
One of our church ladies talked to me today about her son's soccer coach. She had just learned that he is the husband to one of Leona's students who has been a friend for about 15 years. All these connects that God is bringing to light these days. Clearly a result of His guidance and us being here for an extended period of time. That's what it takes in Japan . In their perspective we are just getting started!

Thanks for praying. Let's see what God will do next!

In Christ,
Laurence and Leona Hiebert
