Dear praying friend,
Mrs. Katoh. She came to church on Sunday and to our ladies’ Bible Study a second time. She has begun studying “Experiencing God” at home. When she told her husband she wanted to go back to church he wasn’t particularly pleased. He commented that he’d be eating Sunday lunch alone. This is an issue in many homes. The Christian wants to stick around church for lunch and have some fellowship after that (as they tend not to be able to do that during the week), but the non-Christians are alone at home. Pray that she will not neglect her husband in her pursuit of God and that God will transform his life.
Needy Family. They continue to struggle. A troubled upbringing for both and the fallout of their pre-Christian days continue to make life difficult financially, emotionally, relationally, etc. I was called over to an emergency last night – they had a big fight as result of trying to deal with their depressed and mentally ill daughter’s (step daughter) outburst. She is often traumatized by her past. Our recent convert, Mr. N, wanted to come along and assist. So we spent a couple hours listening, counseling, praying, and trying to bring peace. Please pray for the daughter’s healing, for the power to overcome destructive behaviors from their pasts, and for grace to walk in full obedience to Jesus in daily life.
Action Team. Cindy and Jessica arrived last night and will be with us for about 2 weeks and then will serve in several other MB churches in Japan . Pray for their adjustment and for effective ministry.
Day Camps. We are planning Day Camps (Like VBS) for July 23-25, 27. Please join us in praying that God will direct at least 30 kids to us and that some of those and their families would begin seeking Jesus with their whole heart.
Brandon . Our oldest son is scheduled to arrive on July 15 to spend time with our family and to help out with the Day Camps. Please ask the Lord to give our family a good time together during his 4 weeks here.
Guest Lecturer. I have been invited to speak to about 250 senior citizens on Wednesday. They have limited my freedom to speak directly from the Bible. So pray that God will give me insight and guidance in order to be able to speak to them in such away that they hear God’s voice anyway and ask questions that allow me to share the Gospel of Jesus. (Last week’s talk at Toyota International Association went well.)
Grateful for your prayers and encouragement!
