Dear praying friend,

Thank you so much for praying! The couple that was in a crisis is doing much better. When I wrote you the other day I had only talked to one. Yesterday I talked to the other. It went very well. They have decided to try to pray together every morning. I guess, they just didn’t ever get into custom of praying together. Ask the Father to make those times especially meaningful and a good time of bonding and encouragement.

I also talked to a couple that would like children but are having trouble. They are getting things checked out and are wondering what kinds of “medical help” should be considered as options for them. Please pray for wisdom and the blessing of children in God’s time.

Our needy family is still behind financially and new needs have appeared in the last week. I am sensing God’s leading to approach the husband to make things right with his parents. No, not merely to open the door for financial help from them, but rather to allow God to bless his family because he would begin to honour his parents the way God the Father would have him. Pray wisdom for me and for the right timing to do this and that reconciliation will take place.

The family suffering from dysfunctionality is in the same situation. I haven’t been able to make any progress there.

The men’s session on Saturday went very well. We made good headway and will continue the discussion of overcoming temptation next month.

The first year memorial service was meaningful. I was able to visit with Mr. Yanagawa’s wife, and son, and his older brother, – none of who are Christians. The other brother said, “I’m getting to the age where I need to decide about my faith, if I will go the Buddhist way or the Christian way. His wife, a Buddhist, is strongly opposed to Christianity and has been upset that last year’s funeral was at a church. It seems she doesn’t to matter to her that the father/grandfather was a Christian. Neither she nor any of their children attended today.

The TREK Team arrived safely in Canada . We appreciate so much their ministry here and feel like they were an awesome team. They came to learn and serve and didn’t have an entitlement attitude nor did they come across with the attitude that we should serve them. They were willing to do what needed to be done and were very cooperative. Our church people really welcomed them and did much for them. We miss them already.

Well I’d better go start packing for our trip!

Thanks for continuing to pray!
Laurence
