Stories of God`s provision

Dear Praying Friend,

Hi there, again.

(For some reason this old computer can’t send out long emails to a large number of people, so I’m sending out two shorter ones.)

I want to share a few amazing stories of God’s provision. Several months ago the prospects of having MBMS International send a YMI Action Team coming to Japan didn’t look very encouraging. But God has provided two young families and two young ladies to form a great team. Matt and Ruth Braun (and Abbie) and Dave and Melanie Berg (and Mikayla and Brooklyn) are all from Saskatoon, SK. Noelle Noyes lives in Langley, BC and Michelle Loewen is from Altona, MB. We are excited to host them.

Pray for us as we get ready for the team’s arrival and for these team members as they prepare for serving in Japan from July 15 to August 13. Pray for protection, joy and humility in service, effective outreach and spiritual growth. Remember to pray for Ruth and Melanie in a special way as they are expecting this fall!

The second amazing story is the way God is providing ESL teachers when it seemed there were none! Sean Amstutz, from the Dalhousie church in Calgary, has applied to teach in Toyota City with us. Calgarians Martin and Esther Jones (and 6 year old Katie) and Tim Friesen from Langley, BC have applied to teach in Osaka. Pray for God’s direction and confirmation for each of these. Also ask the Lord to provide their needed support quickly so they can be in Japan in time to start teaching in September.

Also, please remember to intercede on behalf of our congregation in Toyota City. We want to be a church family that is led nearer to God’s heart, deeper with each other, and more connected with the lives of people in our city so that the power of the Gospel can transform many lives. Pray that together we would be Jesus` witnesses and God’s people who would declare the excellencies of our great and awesome Lord!

Dear praying friend,

In exactly one week from now, we will be on our way back to Japan! We`ll be flying out of Calgary early July 3 and arriving in Nagoya (About one hour drive from Toyota City) at 2:15 on the afternoon of July 4. Thanks in advance for praying for a good trip.

We are busy packing up and doing all the final things. Brandon is working hard at his landscaping job. He will live with Laurence’s sister and family until he goes back to Bethany College in fall. So we will say a tearful goodbye to him.

Please pray for the four of us as we go back that we can adjust to the heat and humidity quickly and get back into a ministry mode right away. We are excited to see what God will do in the next term!

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for us and committed yourself to supporting us. Our support level is close enough for us to return to Japan. God has done amazing things, yes through His people!
