Church visits and schooling

Dear praying friend,

Church Visits
We have lots to share and are using every opportunity we get to tell people what God is doing in Toyota City. You should try it. It’s a lot of fun talking about what God is doing and how He has answered people’s prayers! In most cases we don’t get enough time to share as much as we’d like.

In each of the 5 churches so far, we enjoyed catching up with many of the people who have been praying for us and contributing toward our support. We are encouraged that individuals and churches are asking about our support, as they are beginning to grasp the fact that we need to raise and secure the funds needed to live and serve the Lord as a family. That’s right, we need that support whether we are in Japan, or on MINA like we are this year! Please join us in praying that God’s people will be responsive to His prompting in their lives.

Trenton’s Schooling
Trenton usually comes home in a good mood and doesn’t mind heading to school in the morning! It seems the teachers work hard at making school a good experience. He has adjusted well and is making friends during the first 4 weeks. Now, we are praying that we will begin to see progress. Thanks for continuing to pray.

Cambria
Cambria seems to feel at home at Heritage Christian Academy and with the Dalhousie Church youth group. At school she is excited about being in the choir and her tour next year.

Brandon
We call Brandon weekly and are pleased to hear that he is doing well at Bethany College. He is studying hard and has joined the music committee.

L and L
Now that the initial adjustments are over, Leona is settling into driving kids to school and doing a great job of taking care of the family and home, as well as doing some reading and drawing. It’s going to take some time to recover from the heavy load during the last 3 years in Japan. I’m enjoying the church visits and trying to get make some progress on my studies in between. The pressure is on as assignments are coming due and I travel to Chicago for another course in early November.

Car Town
Pastor Kurokawa, his wife, and Karis are keeping busy taking care of things back in Toyota City. Our church had it’s first wedding two weeks ago! Pray for them as they walk together along the path God has for them. A number of people aren’t attending regularly and some not at all. Continue to pray for fruit, and fruit that would remain.

Thanks for your prayers.
Laurence
