Waiting some more
Thanks for your interest, concern, and prayers for Trenton and his schooling needs. The Foothills Academy intake committee "kind of met" and responded to us saying they are not sure they will be able to meet Trenton's needs and aren't sure he would fit the class or group that they have for his grade level. So either this is a bit of a run around, or their honest concern for our son. They suggested that Trenton attend their school for two days next week to see if it would be a good match. If it is, he'd likely get in. If not, he wouldn't. We feel we should give it a try, realizing of course that he'd miss two days at his present school if he didn't get into Foothills Academy. We will visit the school again today and hope to learn some more about the school and try to speed up the process.
Presently Trenton is attending Senator Patrick Burns Jr. HS and is making friends in his class. The academics aren't getting rigorous yet and the reading and writing is minimal. So it isn't that stressful yet.
I read in Daniel this morning and was encouraged that our God is the one who reveals mysteries and dreams. We are in need of insight and are asking Him to reveal the mystery of His will for Trenton - soon. Is Foothills Academy the
place? Or should he continue at SPB and we be satisfied with the help that likely would come from that school and the Calgary School Board and in addition we supplement that with extra tutoring in the evenings? Or should we begin the process with another specialty school in Calgary? I did check one out yesterday, but their grade 7 is full. There are two others I could pursue. So, we are in need of wisdom and insight into what God's will is for us.
We are glad we have a God is in control and that we have friends like you who pray.
Thank you.
